Microsoft Updates for June 2019

 

We thought listing the items out would help to identify what had been communicated each week from Microsoft so you don't have to dig through weeks worth of updates. Will start posting these each moving forward.

 

Feature update: Updating capabilities in the SharePoint admin center.

We’re updating capabilities in the SharePoint admin center. We'll begin rolling this feature out soon.  This does not impact Office 365 subscriptions in GCC.

 

Updated Feature: Search box changes in modern experiences

As communicated in MC176702, March 2019, Microsoft Search is approaching General Availability. We are making some changes to the search boxes in modern experience.

 

UPDATED: New Feature: Enable modern communication site experience at the classic root site of your tenant

Updated May 29th, 2019 Based on preview feedback, we have decided to postpone rolling out this feature at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience and will communicate a new schedule via Message Center, once it is available. We are rolling out a feature that allows admins to enable the modern communication site experience at the classic root site of their SharePoint tenant.

 

Updated Feature: Inside Look for .docx file types

We’re updating Inside Look. We'll begin rolling this feature out soon. This message is associated with Office 365 Roadmap ID 49423.This feature is not available in Office 365 subscriptions in GCC.

 

Updated Feature: Managing Legacy Teams Trial

Major Update: General Availability rollout started

As communicated in MC176243, on April 22nd, 2019, we rolled out an updated version of the Microsoft Teams Commercial Cloud Trial to make it easier for admins to manage the trial for their organization. We’ve updated our guidance on how to migrate existing users of the legacy Microsoft Teams Trial.

 

New Feature: Microsoft 365 Admin Setup Page

Major Update: General Availability rollout started

Microsoft 365 Admin Setup Page is a new Office 365 feature. We'll begin rolling this feature out soon.

Read Receipts is a new Office 365 feature. We'll begin rolling this feature out soon.
