Project 2013 Ignite

Project Online is the Microsoft Cloud version of Project Server 2013. Microsoft had stated that this version has the same functionality as the on-premise version. Access to the servers would be different, but functionality is pretty much the same. 

Project Professional Reports have been redone with a Excel like pivot charts and reports out of the box. Burndown reporting was one of the reports shown.

Reporting Features with PowerView and OData in Excel 2013 or Excel 2010 with PowerPivot provide a new level of reporting capabilities used out-of-the-box. Microsoft's Scheduling Engine in PWA allows for new features like setting baselines and managing cost and material resources from PWA.

Apps for SharePoint and Office is a new feature. An App Store and a new model of extensibility for Office, Project Server and SharePoint (CSOM, JSOM, REST, etc). 

Demand Management Workflows are now something that can be done in SharePoint Designer 2013 and or Visio. You can create or update your workflows without alot of development or 3rd party solutions.

SharePoint Task List Project Is a new way or type of project managed through a Task list.

SharePoint Permissions Mode is something that could be confusing for people upgrading from PWA 2010 is an opportunity to replace the Project Server Permissions Mode aligning with existing SharePoint permissions.

SharePoint Work Management Service is a way to aggregate tasks across Project, SharePoint, Exchange.
