Locking Tasks in Project Server 2013

So basically Microsoft made a small change in Project Server 2013 when it comes to locking tasks.

The Lock feature is now enabled in views for the Project Schedule in Project Web App.

The first thing you want to do is decide which views will have the Lock field added to them. Now of course the view type will be the Project type. Once you add the Lock field to the view its a very simple process to lock a task.

The Lock field has a value of Yes and No. Since the default is set to No you have to go to each line [I like copying and pasting] of the schedule in PWA and set the value to Yes. After which Publishing the schedule in PWA is necessary for the changes to take affect.

After that the task or tasks are locked and will no longer appear in the task and timesheet views.

Its that simple to do...............
